Warrant of Arrest for the trio has been struck out
The Waigani District Court has struck out the Warrant of Arrests for the Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Treasurer, the Post Courier reports, however, refused to throw out the entire complaint against them.

Principal Magistrate Lawrence Kangwia made the ruling saying the Police was free to reapply for fresh warrants against the three politicians.

Mr Kangwia ruled that the warrants were not valid because the legislation they relied on was repealed in 2000, but said due process was followed in the way they were obtained.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Tom Kulunga, has issued a directive for Police personnel to stay clear of the matter relating to payments to Paraka lawyers.

He said an investigation was being conducted by Task Force Sweep, led by Sam Koim, and therefore no investigation or arrests would be carried out by members of the Police except those attached to the investigation team.

Molesting PNG diplomat charged

The Papua New Guinea (PNG) diplomat who was arrested in Seoul, Korea in relation to sexual molestation charges has been charged accordingly by his departmental head, Loop PNG reports. The 40 year old diplomat allegedly molested an inebriated woman who was lying at a parking lot at the city’s Iteawon Street. The diplomat returned to the country earlier this year. Meanwhile, news of the diplomat’s misbehavior has upset minister responsible Rimbik Pato. He said upon receipt of the reports, formal disciplinary charges under the Public Service have been served on the officer by his department head. Pato said, As required under this process, the officer has been given seven days to respond to the allegations.   It is important that the officer is given fair opportunity to present his side of the story. Minister Pato also said diplomats have been warned of zero tolerance toward improper behavior while serving in overseas missions.

Nambawan Super distributing statements and membership ID cards

Nambawan Super Ltd (NSL) is currently distributing members’ statements and ID cards at their branch offices nationwide. In a public statement, NSL said the exercise would be conducted from June 16 – 30 and members who did not collect their cards and statements would have them mailed. This would also be applied for members in Port Moresby, Central and Gulf provinces. Meanwhile members who have received a pre-printed ID are also asked to visit their nearest branch to have ID photos taken to be printed on the cards.
